Description: Dry Kevlar® style 285 is a crowfoot woven Kevlar®. This fabric is 43 percent lighter than fiberglass fabrics with double the strength. It nearly approaches the strength of the graphite fabrics. Kevlar® holds its strength through temperatures ranging from -320 degrees F to 800 degrees F. This material is also resistant to most chemicals with the exception to a few strong acids and alkalis. Kevlar® is used in situations where strength and low weight are essential.  Generally, Kevlar® is most popular for aerospace, automotive and recreational use. 

Application: To start the application process of Dry Kevlar®, you must first impregnate the fabric with the resin system of your choice. Epoxy resin systems are the most common. To do this, you must mix the resin and catalyst according to the instructions on your resin kit. Once this is mixed up properly, you will then pour the resin in the center of your dry kevlar material, allowing short time for the resin to saturate the fabric. Sandwiched in between two pieces of parting film, you must start in the center of the fabric and spread the resin outwards towards the edges making sure that all air bubbles have evacuated the material. Taking time to ensure the resin is evenly spread throughout the fabric is a must. You will notice a change in color of the fabric once the resin is fully saturated. At this time you can cut out the plies needed and layup as required
