Description: Kevlar® pre-preg style 285 is a crowfoot woven Kevlar® with the resin system already mixed in. The Kevlar® style 285 is 43 percent lighter than fiberglass with double the strength. It nearly approaches the strength of some graphite pre-pregs. Kevlar® holds its strength through temperatures ranging from -320 degrees F to 300 degrees F. This material is also resistant to most chemicals with the exception to a few strong acids and alkalis. Kevlar® is used in situations where strength and low weight are essential. Generally, Kevlar® is most popular for aerospace, automotive and recreational use.

Application: To start the application process, you must first allow the material to reach room temperature. Be sure the parts to be bonded have been thoroughly cleaned and dried. Cut your material to the dimensions needed. Remove one side of the poly backing and apply to the material to be bonded. Start from the center and work out making sure to remove any air bubbles in the material. Remove protective liner from the remaining side, complete assembly being careful not to trap any air in between. The ideal cure temperature is 250 degrees F with a cure time of 120 minutes. The panel can be cured in a press, vacuum bag in an oven, or an autoclave

Cure time: 120 minutes at 250 degree. Heat up rate 5 degree per minute.
