Description: Dry Graphite fibers consist of 95% carbon and are considered the highest strength reinforcements in the industry. Carbon fibers woven together create this Graphite fabric. The most beneficial aspects to this graphite are its lightweight properties, extreme high strength, while maintaining a fatigue and fire resistant stature. This material is more acceptable to epoxy, vinyl and polyester resin systems with an easy flow and impregnation. Dry graphite can be used in, but not limited to the following industries: industrial, aerospace, marine and automotive.
Application: To start the application process of dry graphite, you must first impregnate the fabric with the resin system of your choice. Epoxy resin systems are the most common. To do this, you must mix the resin and catalyst according to the instructions on your resin kit. Once this is mixed up properly, you will then pour the resin in the center of your dry graphite material, allowing short time for the resin to saturate the fabric. Sandwiched in between two pieces of parting film, you must start in the center of the fabric and spread the resin outwards towards the edges making sure that all air bubbles have evacuated the material. Taking time to ensure the resin is evenly spread throughout the fabric is a must. You will notice a change in color of the fabric once the resin is fully saturated. Cure material accordingly to specifications of project and resin system instructions.
